About Dr Damon Thomas
Dr Damon Thomas has been practicing in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery for more than a decade. After earning his medical degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, Damon received his plastic and reconstructive surgery training in Auckland and Christchurch New Zealand, followed by Melbourne, Australia. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in 2005.
He began a fellowship at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery in 2006. This allowed him to gain invaluable expertise in all aspects of aesthetic surgery including the enhancement and rejuvenation of the breast, face, and body. Following this Damon completed a one year Fellowship in Paediatric Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Since 2007 Damon has been providing clinical care at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon focusing in paediatric hand, adult hand, microsurgery, reconstructive surgery, and all aspects of aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery. Damon consults privately in two locations – Malvern and Moonee Ponds.
In addition to his work with the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, Dr Thomas has been appointed as a Paediatric Hand and Microvascular Surgeon at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. He also works at Barwon, and Austin Health.
Damon works closely with all of his patients to help them identify their specific concerns and find the best procedure for their needs.
